Desalination technology for energy-efficient and low-cost water production: A bibliometric analysis

Abstract Over the last few decades, steady growth in desalination literature has been observed. However, conducting a quantitative analysis of this is still novelty. This study aimed at carrying out published during 30 years, using bibliometric and content techniques, based on Web Science database. The revealed that received much attention after year 2000, as 95.4% two decades 2000. text mining showed hot themes research are reverse osmosis optimization, graphene implications, interfacial polymerization, capacitive deionization, carbon nanotube antifouling techniques. Furthermore, it was observed many technologies have emerged recently make challenge to choose right technology for industrialization. Therefore, also contributed identifying factors important industrialization and, these identified factors, compared different unearth energy-efficient low production cost technology. Analytical hierarchy process used comparing existing eight parameters demonstrated best available desalination.
